For those interested in pursuing advanced technical diving certifications, there are several options available. TDI offers Intro to Tech and Advanced Nitrox courses, while PADI offers Tec Trimix, Deep Diver and Deep Diver courses. Advanced Nitrox diving techniques are taught in the TDI Advanced Nitrox Course for recreational Nitrox divers. The course covers equipment usage, gas switching, and advanced emergency techniques, such as lift bag deployment. For more information, please visit the TDI Website.
TDI Intro to Tech course
The TDI Intro to Tech is a standalone training program that allows you to expand your recreational training and learn more advanced technical skills. It can also serve as a great introduction to TDI's advanced courses, such as Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures. Or, it could be used as refresher material for people who have already completed technical courses. TDI technical instructors can evaluate your skills during the course.
The TDI Intro to Tech course can be used by divers who haven't dived before with twin cylinders and a wing. It also covers advanced gas management and buoyancy control. Students will also develop situational awareness, as well as trim skills. The course can be taught at the beach or in cenotes with similar conditions as swimming pools. Advanced gas planning techniques will be taught. This course is designed to improve your open water diving skills and introduce you to the technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques will also be covered. It is strictly a no-decompression course, but you will be allowed to use enriched air nitrox mixes during the course.

Course on TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures
TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures courses are designed to prepare divers for accelerated or staged decompression. Students will learn advanced gas planning skills and management techniques to ensure their dives are as safe and enjoyable as possible. Students learn to manage their equipment, and how to plan for emergencies. Four dives at a maximum depth limit of 40 meters (130 feet) are included in the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Techniques course.
This course is available as either a standalone or part of an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certificate. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses can be taken as a performance-based course and last for 4 days. Six dives are required, with two below 30m. Students complete the course according their own experience and needs. This course prepares you for advanced technical diving.
PADI Tec Trimix course
The final step in the PADI Technical Diver open-circuit path is the PADI Tec Trimix90 course. This certification opens up the possibility to go deeper into the ocean and discover places no one else has. This course can only be taken by experienced tec divers that want to expand their horizons and explore deeper environments. Trimix certification requires a valid driver's license and a medical exam. You will need two 30cf-stage bottles and a facial mask to be certified in trimix diving.
For the PADI Tec Trimix course, the Tec Trimix 65 diver must have logged at least 350 dives, including at least 50 decompression dives with a trimix less than 21 percent oxygen. The course also emphasizes technical diving techniques. It also offers multiple teaching scenarios. It is the most advanced course for technical diving certification. It is important to note that these requirements are more rigorous than those for the PADI Tec Diver standard course.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course
PADI Tec Deep Diver certification for recreational divers is an advanced course. This certification covers four dives, including a practice of safety stops and descents. Additionally, you will learn how to use technical diving equipment such as a side-mounted cylinder or EANx. Learn how to plan deep diving and manage your gas supplies. Online and offline lessons are both possible through the PADI Tec eLearning program.
This program, unlike previous PADI courses can be completed within two years. First, you must be certified by Tec 50 from an approved organization. The qualifying certification must cover technical deep diving, decompression dives to 50 metres, and pure oxygen diving. The Tec Deep Instructor course is also offered by the PADI Course Directors. Upon completion the Tec Deep Instructor course, a PADI Course director will issue Tec Deep Diver certification.
