It operates a 24-hour telephonic hotline that offers free diving medical assistance to scuba divers around the world.

DAN offers many programs for divers. This includes a medical insurance program that covers transport and emergency treatments. It also provides members with the latest information regarding recreational scuba diving. Members have access to a variety of medical and educational materials, and can also receive notifications about events and emergency situations.

Scuba diving accident insurance
DAN dive scuba diving accident coverage protects members from financial damages resulting in an underwater accident. Membership costs $35 per individual and $55 per family. It allows the DAN to carry out research regarding safety and emergency medical assistance. Although it is not necessary to be a member, it is worth considering before you dive.
DAN insurance provides divers with a range of coverage options. You can choose depending on your requirements a plan that covers both medical costs related to an accident and the loss or damages to your diving equipment. If you live more than 50 miles from your home, some plans will also pay for medical evacuation.
Project Dive Exploration (PDE).
The DAN and DAN USA teamed up in the early 2000s to create the PDE Database. This database has information about recreational, mixed, and decompression dives. The current PDE computer database contains 137,451 profiles. This information is gathered by field work, laboratory research, and other activities with the goal of improving diving safety.
PDE stands for Project Dive Exploration. You can share your profile information if you are a DAN diver to help the charity. To be eligible for the drawing, all you have to do is dive for five minimum dives between May 28th & September 3rd 2007. The commemorative t-shirt will go to the diver who has completed at least 10 dives.
