They are taught in collaboration with Next Generation Science Standards experts by Aquarium professionals. These programs also offer teacher resources. You can also take an online course or watch a live presentation.

The National Aquarium is the top American aquarium. It provides solutions to protect marine life and human communities. Students can enjoy guided tours of non-public areas as well as narrated feedings. The Aquarium also provides free online classes for teachers and offers resources such as printable art and crafts. Zoom technology is also available to students who wish to take a virtual trip of the Great Wall of China.

Teachers can also take advantage of a free orientation for teachers. The orientation lasts approximately 60 minutes and covers a review of the National Aquarium as well as its education programs. Instructors will learn how to safely use scuba equipment, how to use regulators and masks, and how to air-share. They will also be taught about different marine species and how to care for equipment. After they have completed their orientation, they can visit the aquarium to participate in an educational program.

Learning activities in a pool

Rangers learn how to dive and also learn basic navigation techniques. You will also learn how a compass works, as well as grid and square search techniques to find underwater treasures. The pool will provide a place for Rangers to practice their skills. Once they have mastered each skill they will learn to swim a mile under water with their masks, fins, and snorkel. Rangers will learn basic first aid skills and recognize signs of stress while diving.

To learn, you must perform a front or back flip under water. Another activity requires candidates take a mask and their teeth to the pool floor, and perform five underwater bobs. Failure to complete a bob can result in the mask being dropped, broken restraints or touching the sides.
